Sixth victim in Rowan County crash dies

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. – Officials say a third child has died in connection to a car wreck Friday in Rowan County, bringing the total number of deaths up to six.

WCNC reported that 8-year-old Taliah Williams died around 6:30 p.m. Sunday night at Brenner Children’s Hospital in Winston Salem.

Police said nine people were in a GMC Envoy when it veered off South Rowan Avenue around 8:15 p.m. Friday in Spencer, hit a tree, and caught fire.

Angela Dunlap, 28, and her daughter Daja, 10, were pronounced dead at the scene. Sean Javan Jacobs, 25;  Karizma Sexton, 4, who was the daughter of Jacobs’s fiancée; and Vincent McNeal, 45, were also killed.

Taliah and her six-year-old twin brothers were hospitalized.  Officials said Sunday that Javion was listed in serious condition and Davion in fair condition.

Ten-year-old Charles Patrick was reportedly the wreck’s only survivor with a busted lip.
