Asheboro man arrested on 42 counts of child porn charges

ASHEBORO, N.C. – An Asheboro man was arrested after deputies said they found numerous videos of child pornography involving children as young as 5 on his computer.

James Michael Kirkman, 28, has been charged with 42 counts of second degree exploitation of a minor.

Deputies said they executed a search warrant at his home at 2841 Brookdale Road on Dec. 20, 2012.

Authorities said several pornographic videos found on his computer depicted children from 5 to 16 years old engaged in sexual activity.

Kirkman was placed in the Randolph County Jail under a $1,000,000 bond set by Magistrate Grant.

The investigation is ongoing and deputies said more charges are expected. No other details were immediately available.
