Thomasville man arrested in Guilford Co. bank robbery

PLEASANT GARDEN, N.C. — A Thomasville man was charged with robbing a bank in Pleasant Garden on Monday.

Deputies responded to the Bank of America at 4615 Pleasant Garden Road around 2 p.m. Monday in reference to a bank robbery.

Workers told police two men entered the bank with handguns and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Authorities then responded to the area of Liberty and Wiley Lewis roads, where James Edward Gregg, 44, of Tremon Street in Thomasville, was located and arrested in connection with the robbery.

He was charged with two counts of second-degree kidnapping, robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a stolen vehicle.

He is being held under $100,000 bond.

Police are searching for a second suspect in connection with the robbery. Anyone with information should contact Greensboro Crimestoppers at 373-1000.
