WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. --- Winston-Salem will celebrate its 100th birthday in May.

John Hauser with Preserve Historic Forsyth says, "This 100 year anniversary is a time to say where have we been and where do we want to go. What have we accomplished... what do we have to accomplish"

Hauser feels the spirit of cooperation helped the towns of Winston and Salem come together in 1913 and that working together can help improve the future of Winston-Salem and the entire Piedmont-Triad.

"Just like the Triad today.  Instead of being Greensboro, and High Point and Winston, we integrate with factories and jobs, and  transportation networks."

The city of Winston-Salem will celebrate its 100th birthday from May 9 to May 12.
