Event to honor poet planned in Mount Airy

MOUNT AIRY, N.C. — The Mount Airy Museum of Regional History plans to host an event honoring the life of poet Robert Burns, according to the Mount Airy News.

The paper reported that the event is planned for 6 p.m. Jan. 6 at Trio Restaurant located in the Main Oak Emporium.

The event will reportedly feature Scottish cuisine and bagpipe music. Tickets are $50 and includes the annual toast.

Robert Burns was a Scottish poet and lyricist from the 1700s.
