DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — Authorities say a woman was killed after her car ran off the road and hit a ditch and a tree Saturday morning in Davidson County.

Lydian Eleanor Beck, 21, of Lexington, was pronounced dead after a wreck reported on Hwy 47 within a mile east of NC 8 around 4:15 a.m.

Officials say she was headed west on Hwy 47 in a 2003 Nissan sport utility vehicle. Authorities say she was the only person in the car.

Investigators say she lost control, overcorrected, ran off road, hit ditch and a tree, overturned and came to rest on the vehicle’s left side.

Authorities say they do not suspect alcohol or drugs were involved, but speed is being considered a factor.

The investigation is ongoing and no other details were immediately available.
