Update: The winning numbers are: If your lottery numbers are 05 16 22 23 29 with a Powerball of 06

Greenboro/High Point N.C.-- Tonight's Powerball Jackpot has ticked up to $550 million, and people all over the Triad are hoping their $2 tickets will boast the lucky numbers.

It's the highest jackpot in Powerball history, and according to the State's lottery website, the odds of winning are 1 in 195 million.

Shane Brown was buying his tickets Wednesday afternoon.

"I let the machine pick the numbers," he laughed. "I felt good on Saturday and it didn't work out for me, but today is my day!"

While every player might have his own method for choosing numbers, there's one thing they all have in common: a good feeling about hitting it big.

"People are coming in left and right, nonstop!" Clerks at the Raceway on North Main Street in High Point say players have been in day and night for the past week or so. "Even when we're trying to close they are coming in and trying to play."

"Better take a picture of the winner," joked one customer in line, patting the Powerball ticket in his pocket.

Earth McGibboney and Steven Lamar play every day. "I've been close," said Eartha. "I figure if I keep using the same numbers, they gotta come out one time."

Steve depends on his appetite for Chinese food, basing his numbers on his fortune cookies' recommendations.

Meanwhile, convenience stores aren't the only businesses benefiting from lotto fever.

Winston-Salem psychic Lauren Nicholas of Psychic Solutions says a lot of people want help picking out lucky digits.

"I can tell them whatever I feel, it's basically an energy and a vibe," explained Lauren.

But, she pointed out, she can't predict the specific winning numbers. "If I could, I'd be a millionaire! I will tell you what I feel, but I can't tell you 100%."

Powerball tickets are for sale until 9:59 p.m. Wednesday night. The drawing is at 10:59 p.m. Wednesday night. If no one wins, the next drawing will be Saturday.
