FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. — Officials said 40 Business eastbound is now reopened after a 2-vehicle wreck near Macy Grove Road overpass Wednesday morning in Winston-Salem.

Officials said the one vehicle rear-ended another around 8:22 a.m., temporarily closing all lanes at mile marker 17.

Authorities said the driver was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center with minor injuries.

Officials said the major contributing factor was failure to reduce speed to avoid collision, although it was foggy at the time.

The driver had already had his license suspended and was arrested at the scene, officials said.

The scene was reportedly cleared around 9:15 a.m.

The Kernersville Police Department is investigating.
