Teenagers accused of damaging multiple mailboxes in Burlington

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Police said three teenagers accused of damaging multiple mailboxes were arrested Saturday in Burlington.

Evan Taylor Steelman, 18, Aaron Blake Howard, 18, and Steven MacLean Nix, 17, all of Burlington, allegedly vandalized mailboxes Saturday and Sunday in the 300 block of Collinwood Drive and the 200 block of Coachlight Trail, respectively.

Police said there were nine victims in the Collinwood Drive incident and five victims in the Coachlight Trail incident. Officials reported a total of $500 worth of damage.

Authorities said Steelman and Howard were charged with 14 counts of injury to real property and Nix received five counts of the same charge.

Police said all three suspects were placed in the Alamance County Jail. Police said Steelman was given an $800 secured bond and the other two suspects $500 secured bonds.

Steelman and Howard have court dates planned for Dec. 3.
