Man charged after Greensboro stabbing

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police say a suspect has been charged in connection with a stabbing that was reported early Monday in Greensboro. 

According to police, officers responded shortly after 2 a.m. Monday to reports of a stabbing on Coliseum Boulevard at Freeman Mill Road. 

The victim told officers he was sitting in his vehicle when the suspect “approached him and stabbed him,” police said.  The suspect then ran south away from the scene. 

Police said investigators later learned the stabbing had occurred at 1208 Kirkman St. 

The suspect was identified as Russell Junior Goodson.  Police said he was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
