LEXINGTON, N.C. — Police on Monday responded to reports of a car hitting a fast food restaurant in Lexington.

Police confirmed they received reports shortly after 11:15 a.m. that a car struck the Arby’s on Main Street.

Police would not confirm any other details, but the Lexington Dispatch reports the restaurant “sustained major damage” when the car “crashed through the building.”

The Dispatch reports the vehicle was a Toyota Camry.  The car “appeared to be going through the drive-through lane” when it veered to the left, according to the paper.

The front half of the Camry was “inside the building,” the paper reports.

The paper reports a woman who was inside the car was placed into an ambulance while employees and customers were evacuated from inside the building.
