Police: Suspect sought in attempted Greensboro robbery

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Police said they are looking for a man who unsuccessfully tried robbing a woman leaving her job Wednesday night in Greensboro.

Officials said the victim was leaving the Shoe Dept. at 115 W. Elmsley Drive around 11:05 p.m. when the suspect opened her car door and demanded her car and purse.

Police said the victim fought back and the suspect ran off, headed toward Treybrooke  Drive.

The suspect is described as a heavyset black male with dreadlocks, 5’10” and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black baggy pants and a black bandana over his face.

Police said they are still investigating. Anyone with any information can call Crime stoppers at 373-1000.
