Second arrest made in Burlington shooting

BURLINGTON, N.C.—Police have arrested a second suspect accused of shooting and injuring another man near an apartment complex on Maple Ave. on Thursday.

Stanley Curtis Gillom was arrested in Greensboro on Monday afternoon and charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to traffic cocaine, according to police.

The first suspect, Vondrell Xavier Majette, was arrested on Friday and is also charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and of conspiracy to traffic cocaine.

Both men are being held Alamance County Jail.

The victim’s name has not yet been released.
