1 arrested, 1 sought in Burlington shooting

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Police said they have arrested a man accused of shooting and injuring another man near an apartment complex Thursday in Burlington.

Vondrell Xavier Majette, 24, is accused of shooting the victim at a location near Stokes Street and Maple Avenue around 1 a.m.

Police said a second suspect is still wanted. Warrants have been issued for 27-year-old Stanley Curtis Gillom.

Majette was charged with one count each of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and of conspiracy to traffic cocaine.

Police said he was placed in the Alamance County Jail under a $300,000 bond and has court planned for Dec. 14.
