Motorcyclist hospitalized in Winston-Salem wreck

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A motorcyclist is listed in critical condition after police say he was struck by a car Saturday morning in Winston-Salem.

Police said 53-year-old Brian Joseph Cashel was headed south on 100 block of Miller Street on a 2002 Kawasaki motorcycle when he was hit by a 2011 Toyota around 11:18 a.m.

Police said the Toyota’s driver was turning left from a parking lot and headed north. Authorities said Cashel was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center by emergency workers.

Police said any charges are pending the completion of the investigation.
