Man charged with impersonating officer in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A man was arrested Wednesday night in Greensboro after police said he attempted to impersonate an officer using illegal blue lights. 

According to police, officers responded around 10:15 p.m. to the parking lot of the Citgo at 3930 Battleground Ave.  Upon arrival, police determined the suspect had pulled a driver over in a grey, 1999 Ford van with “illegal blue lights.” 

The suspect was arrested at the scene.  He is charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer, illegal possession/use of a blue light, injury to personal property, and having open container.  He is being held under a $5,000 bond.
