ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies said they are looking for a man who allegedly shot and injured a woman at her home Monday morning in Mebane.

Authorities said the victim was shot once in her abdomen after a man came to her home and a conflict occurred at around 10:30 a.m. in the 200 block of Edgewood Church Road.

Officials said the victim wrestled the gun from the suspect and fired at him as he ran from the home.

Deputies did not say if the suspect and victim knew each other or if the man broke into the home. Officials said that detectives have not interviewed the suspect in depth because of a medical condition.

Authorities said that the suspected handgun used in the crime was recovered in an abandoned vehicle along with about seven pounds of marijuana.

Deputies say the investigation is ongoing.
