Police: Man robbed of scooter at gunpoint in Greensboro
GREENSBORO, N.C. — A teenager was arrested Monday night in Greensboro after police said he and and another suspect robbed a man of his scooter at gunpoint.
Officers responded shortly before 10:30 p.m. to reports of an armed robbery on Sands Drive at East Cone Boulevard.
The victim told police he was pushing his scooter on Sands Drive when two suspects approached him. One of the suspects reportedly pushed the victim to the ground, while the other pulled out a handgun and ordered him to stay down.
The two suspects then left together on the victim’s scooter, police said.
Police said officers found the suspects nearby, but the suspects ran away. While one of the suspects was not caught, 18-year-old Rashawn Stewart was arrested.
Stewart is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy, and possession of a stolen motor vehicle. He was jailed under a $40,000 bond.
The second suspect, who has not been publicly identified, is described as a black male in his mid 20s standing 5’8″ tall with a thin build. He was wearing a white T-shirt and was armed with a handgun at the time of the robbery.
