Possible expansion could bring 188 jobs to High Point

HIGH POINT, N.C. — City and county officials will hold public hearings to consider incentives for a furniture company to expand in High Point — a $9.25 million project that would create 188 full-time jobs. 

A spokesperson with Indiana-based OFS Brands announced Friday the expansion would be at 1264 Jackson Lake Road.  The High Point location is being considered with one other location in another state. 

OFS Brands, which manufactures case goods, seating and tables, is the parent company of OFS, First Office, Carolina, Loewenstein and Styline Logistics. 

The company already has two buildings in southern High Point along with two buildings in Archdale. 

The average wage for the new jobs would be about $40,700, officials said. 

The High Point City Council will consider authorizing up to $220,000 in incentives on at a public hearing slated for 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29 at the High Point Municipal Building, located at 211 South Hamilton St. 

The Guilford County Board of Commissioners will consider authorizing up to $188,000 in incentives at a public hearing slated for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15 at the Old County Courthouse, located at 301 West Market St. in Greensboro.
