CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man has been sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to stabbing a Charlotte photographer to death last year.

Antonie Young pleaded guilty in Mecklenburg County court Thursday to first-degree murder, armed robbery and motor vehicle theft.

Fifty-five-year-old Christopher Radok was stabbed to death in January 2011.

Police say Young broke into Radok’s home and attacked him when the photographer returned from work.

Prosecutors said Radok was beaten to death with a baseball bat and his throat was cut.

Prosecutor Gabrielle Macon had been seeking the death penalty.
