Va. Beach piano teacher accused of sexually abusing student

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) — A Virginia Beach piano teacher has been accused in a sex abuse case involving a student.

Virginia Beach police spokeswoman Grazia Moyers says 37-year-old William E. Bernstein Jr. was arrested Wednesday on a charge of aggravated sexual battery.

Moyers says Bernstein went to a 14-year-old student’s home once a week for piano lessons. Virginia Beach police were notified earlier this month that the victim allegedly had been abused numerous times over several months at the home.

Bernstein is being held without bond at the Virginia Beach Correctional Center. Jail records didn’t indicate whether he had an attorney
