MOCKSVILLE, N.C. — A Davie County parent was arrested after becoming involved in a ‘scuffle’ between his son and another player after junior varsity football practice on Wednesday.

According to Sheriff Andy Stokes, the parent, Daniel Jay Gray, 42, of 198 Edwards Rd., of Harmony, was charged with assault and placed under a $1,500 unsecured bond.

School officials say Gray has been ordered not to return to the school’s property and the students will be disciplined

Sheriff Stokes says neither the students, or Gray were injured during the incident.
