Police: Suspect arrested in Winston-Salem shooting

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Police said a man who allegedly shot another man in the back Saturday night in Winston-Salem has been arrested.

Terrence Thomas Manokey, 25, allegedly got out of an SUV-type vehicle and started shooting at the victim as he left a store around 5:53 p.m. in the 1200 block of East 23rd Street.

Police said the suspect chased the victim and continued to shoot at him, striking him once in the back.

Officials said the victim was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and is expected to survive his injuries.

Manokey was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and possession of a firearm by a felon. He received a $150,000 bond.
