Suspect in custody after vehicle pursuit, crash in Archdale

ARCHDALE, N.C. -- Police say a suspect is in custody after a possible break-in and vehicle pursuit that ended in a crash in Randolph County.

According to police, a resident in the Trindale Road area in Archdale reported a possible breaking-and-entering in progress at a neighbor’s home Monday morning.

Police said a resident pursued the suspect’s vehicle when he left the scene. The pursuit ended in a crash in a cornfield near the Finch Farm Road exit on I-85, police said.

It was not clear how many vehicles were involved in the crash or if there were injuries as a result.

The suspect, Isrrael Suarez, was taken into custody shortly before noon, police said.  His was described as a green Honda with Florida plates.

Archdale police are investigating.
