Police search for suspect in Burlington robbery

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Police are searching for a possibly armed suspect after a man was robbed early Sunday in Burlington. 

According to police, the victim said he was robbed shortly before 12:30 a.m. in the parking lot of 1311 Plaza Drive. 

The victim said he was approached from behind by a man who demanded money, claiming he was armed with a gun. 

After the robbery, the suspect reportedly ran away toward the parking lot of the Bridal Mart on Corporation Parkway. 

The suspect is described as a black male with a medium or heavy build standing 5’5″ tall.  He was wearing a red hooded shirt or coat with baggy jeans at the time. 

Anyone with information about the suspect’s identity is asked to call police or Crimestoppers at (336) 229-7100. 

The victim was not injured.
