Man says he was chased, attacked after being robbed in Burlington

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Police say a man was chased and attacked after being robbed early Sunday morning in Burlington. 

According to police, responding officers found the victim, 28-year-old Jose Luis Rojas Diaz, walking on Tucker Street shortly before 4:15 a.m. 

Diaz, who was bleeding from the face, told police an unknown man had approached him and demanded money.  After giving the suspect his cell phone and an undisclosed amount of cash, Diaz said the suspect chased him.  When the suspect caught up with the victim, he reportedly hit and kicked the victim across the face and body. 

The victim was taken by ambulance to Alamance Regional Medical Center, where he was treated for head injuries.
