ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. – Authorities say a 22-year-old man was killed in a traffic accident involving a tractor-trailer on Monday.

Emergency crews responded to the accident on Highway 158 near Meadow Branch Road, southwest of Reidsville, around 4:15 p.m.

According to troopers, Joshua Blake, 22, was driving eastbound when he crossed the center line into oncoming traffic. As a result, the driver of the tractor-trailer who was traveling west, merged into the eastbound lane to avoid hitting Blake.

Blake then returned to the eastbound lane and collided with the tractor-trailer. He died at the scene.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, Anthony Blanton, of Kentucky, was not injured.

Troopers say alcohol was not involved and the results of the investigation will be given to the Rockingham County District Attorney.
