ASHEBORO, N.C. — Randolph County deputies are investigating whether the shooting of a man over the weekend was a case of self-defense.

Investigators said 43-year-old Charles York Jr. was found dead in the front yard of his Asheboro home on Saturday.

Deputies say they were called to the home for a domestic dispute. They didn’t release other details about the shooting, including who pulled the trigger or what the dispute was about.

Deputies say they will turn over the results of the investigation to prosecutors to determine whether any charges are filed.
