TRINITY, N.C. -- Two Randolph County teenagers were arrested and charged for a fight that happened at an area elementary school on Monday.

Randolph County deputies arrested two,16-year-olds, Bryce Cotie and Sierra Barnes after a fight with a classmate.

The classmate, a 15-year-old says she regrets the entire thing.

"I knew it wasn't going to be good either way it went," said the girl who asked not to be identified.

The girl said, she and Barnes met at Trindale Elementary School for only one reason -- to fight.

Deputies say the 15-year-old and Barnes fought as Cotie videotaped and instigated the fight.

Barnes' family said the whole thing is disappointing and they wish it never would have happened.

As parents they said they don't condone this type of behavior and believe all three of the teenagers involved are equally responsible.

The 15-year-old walked away from the fight with several bruises.

"My eye’s bruised... I have a bruise behind my ear and knots on my head," said the 15-year-old.

Barnes' family and the 15-year-old girl said the two students were suspended for five days for fighting on a school's property.

Barnes and her boyfriend were both charged with assault inflicting serious injury, simple affray, disorderly conduct and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Deputies say an investigation is ongoing with additional charges pending.
