GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Police in Goldsboro say they are investigating the disappearance of a teenager as a homicide and have issued an arrest warrant for a suspect.

Sgt. Dwayne Dean told a news conference Friday that investigators have issued an arrest warrant on an open count of murder for Leonard Eugene Joyner. He is wanted in the case of Kennedy Fitzgerald McLaurin Jr.

Authorities said Kennedy Fitzgerald McLaurin, Jr. was last seen on Sept. 9. He was apparently abducted by four men in a blue four-door car and was reported missing by his mother the next day. An Amber Alert was issued on Sept. 12.

Law enforcement officials spent Friday searching in the Seven Springs area, where Dean said they found physical evidence related to the case. He provided no additional details.
