GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro police say one of their officers crashed his patrol car Friday morning while responding to a disturbance.

Police spokeswoman Susan Danielsen said Officer J.P. Geisler was responding to a disturbance on Cone Boulevard shortly before 6 a.m. when his car went off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole.

Danielsen said speed was a factor in the crash, however charges will not be filed.

Geisler suffered minor injuries to his right hand, Danielsen said.

The patrol car was totaled, she added.

Crews are working to repair the damaged power pole.
