ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. – A former inmate who was incarcerated in the same jail as the Aurora theater shooting suspect claims she spent three days in a jail cell only feet away from the alleged killer.

In an exclusive interview with KDVR, the former inmate Marie said both her and James Holmes were locked in the jail’s medical ward, separated from the general population.

Marie, who asked KDVR not to use her full name, told the station she was placed in the same unit as Homes because she suffers from a medical condition.

Throughout her time in the jail, Marie recalled passing by Holmes cell nearly ten times.  She claims to have overheard Holmes talking to his father saying he is fine.
