Police search for suspect in Hanes Mall armed robbery

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Police have released photos of a man accused of robbing a store in Hanes Mall at gunpoint Sept. 1 in Winston-Salem.

The suspect allegedly robbed two employees walking in the mall after leaving the Buckle clothing retailer around 10 p.m.

Police said he came out of a bathroom with a handgun and demanded money be placed in a bank deposit bag.

Police said the suspect ran off, last seen headed toward the wooded area near the Days Inn.

Police said the suspect appears to be between 20 and 30 years old, 5’11” and about 140 to 170 lbs. with a light skin complexion and cornrows or dreads pulled back tight.

His sweatshirt was black with a large design on the back with a name across the top. The front of the shirt has some medium size Carolina blue colored letters in the center of the chest.

He was wearing cut off blue jean shorts, calf high blue socks, and possibly black/white Converse low cut (Chuck Taylors) shoes.
