WILMINGTON, N.C. — A television pilot starring Julia Ormond and airing on Lifetime will film for 10 days next month in Wilmington.

Fox 21 is producing the show, titled “Witches of East End.” The N.C. Film Office says it will begin filming in mid-October.

The show is based on Melissa de la Cruz’s best-selling novel of the same name about Joanna Beauchamp, played by Ormond. She hasn’t told her two adult daughters that they are all witches, but a dangerous situation may force her to do so.

Fox 21 also produces another television, “Homeland,” in North Carolina. “Witches of East End” marks the eighth television pilot to shoot in the state since 2010.

Ormond’s previous roles include parts in the television series “Mad Men” and in last year’s movie, “My Week with Marilyn.”
