LEWISVILLE, N.C. — A Lewisville woman who owns Christmas tree farms is the new owner of race car driver Junior Johnson’s mansion and farm.

The Winston-Salem Journal reported that Loretta Sides Shore said she bought the 10,000-square-foot home and 150-acre farm at the Aug. 7 auction. The buyer’s identity had been kept confidential.

The winning bid was $2.3 million. The sale is scheduled to close this week.

The 81-year-old Johnson has said that health issues prevented him from caring for the property in Yadkin County. He and his wife moved to Charlotte.

Shore owns Shore’s Nursery, which grows Fraser firs in Alleghany County.

Johnson originally listed the house for $6 million, then lowered the price to less than $5 million. He decided to offer the house at auction when it didn’t sell.
