DAVIE COUNTY, N.C. - Residents next to a foreclosed home near Mocksville say swarms of mosquitoes have taken over their way of life.

"It's just a real bad health hazard. I don’t want to die from West Nile Virus," said Danny Charles who lives next to the foreclosed property on US Highway 158.

Neighbors believe the large population of mosquitoes are coming from the abandoned swimming pool behind the foreclosed home.

"This is just plum ridiculous," said resident Randy Prince.

At sunset Randy and his wife Cindy say you can see the mosquitoes fly in sheets.

"Just no sense in anyone having to fight hoards of mosquitoes," said Randy.

The home has been in foreclosure for several weeks.

Davie County officials have sent a letter of violation to the bank handling the foreclosure.
