Plans finalized for Novant physicians offices in Kernersville
KERNERSVILLE, N.C. – Novant Health and Kernersville Medical Center announced Wednesday further details about plans to build a 30,000 square foot medical office building on the campus of Kernersville Medical Center.
Officials said the Novant physicians offices in Kernersville will be home to Kernersville Medical Center’s new cancer center.
Authorities said nearly 16,000 square feet of the building will be allocated to Piedmont Hematology Oncology Associates and Piedmont Radiation Oncology.
The cancer treatment area will include a linear accelerator allowing patients to receive their radiation treatments close to home, officials said.
Other reported specialties moving to the building will include Winston-Salem Cardiology Associates, Salem Surgical Associates and Martinat Outpatient Rehabilitation Center. Officials said other new services moving to this facility will be announced later.
Authorities said the project will be carried out by Landmark Builders of Winston-Salem. Construction is planned to begin in early September and is projected to take 12 to 18 months.
The building will be located off Kernersville Medical Parkway in Kernersville, just behind Kernersville Medical Center, the Triad’s newest community hospital.
“The new offices will not be attached to the hospital but they will provide physicians with easy access to hospital services and respond if a patient care emergency arises,” said Joanne Allen, president of Kernersville Medical Center, according to a prepared statement.
