DUNN, N.C. — People with their “pants on the ground” in one North Carolina town may soon be in big trouble.

WTVD reported that the Dunn City Council is talking about a sagging pants ban at a meeting Tuesday evening.

No ordinance has been written so far. City council members said they are only scheduled to discuss the idea of outlawing baggy pants.

WTVD reported that the idea has already been the talk of the town in Dunn.

Mayor Pro Tem Carnell Robinson had the idea put on the discussion agenda for Tuesday’s meeting.

The American Civil Liberties Union has written the city attorney saying any proposal violates free speech and is largely unenforceable, according to WTVD.

Robinson said he is unchanged. He said several community members want something done about young people wearing baggy pants below their waist.
