SALISBURY, N.C. — The North Carolina produce supplier that recalled cantaloupes last weeks said it recalled the wrong kind.

They originally said not to eat the Athena Variety because it may be contaminated with listeria. The group is now saying the cantaloupes affected by the recall are the Caribbean Gold variety.

The variety was sold at Food Lions in the High Point, Greensboro and Winston-Salem area and have a red sticker that reads “Cantaloupe P-L-U-4-3-1-9.”

Customers are being told to throw the fruit out and return the red sticker to Food Lion forĀ  a refund.
