Burlington grocery store robbed

BURLINGTON, N.C. —  Police are searching for a man suspected of robbing an area grocery store on Tuesday.

At about 4:30 a.m., police responded to Bela Groceries at 1846 N. Church St. in reference to an armed robbery.

According to police, the suspect entered the business, pointed a gun at a clerk and three other witnesses, and demanded money. After retrieving money from the clerk, the suspect fled the scene on foot.

No injuries were reported.

Police provided an incomplete description of the suspect.

An investigation is ongoing.
