BURLINGTON, N.C. — Two people were taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash Monday morning in Burlington.

Police said Erica Collora, 22, of Elon, was leaving the parking lot of Burlington Honda, located at 2920 South Church St., in her 1994 Ford pickup truck around 10:45 a.m. when she pulled into the path of a Mercedes sedan driven by Sherman Aikala, 53.

Collora became trapped as a result of the collision but she was extracted by EMS and firefighters, police said.

Both drivers were taken to Alamance Regional Medical Center for injuries described as non-life threatening.

Collora was cited for failing to see before turning from a direct line.

Both vehicles were deemed total losses.

Any witnesses are asked to call the Burlington Police Department.
