Fla. motorcyclist killed after car hits NC deputy’s vehicle

SNOW HILL, N.C. — A Florida man has died after a collision involving a deputy’s patrol car in Greene County.

WNCT-TV reported the wreck happened along U.S. 13 on Saturday afternoon.

The Highway Patrol says a 79-year-old Snow Hill man failed to stop at a stop sign and hit a sheriff’s deputy’s vehicle. One of the vehicles then hit two motorcycles.

One of the bikers, 58-year-old Everette Best of Satellite Beach, Fla., died in the crash.

The deputy was treated and released.

The investigation is continuing.
