RALEIGH, N.C. — A former governor and an actor are visiting North Carolina to stump on behalf of their respective political interests.

Ex-Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty is scheduled to make appearances in Cary and Raleigh on Saturday. The Cary event is for what’s described as a sports parents roundtable, while Pawlenty goes to Raleigh to help open the North Wake Victory Office.

Pawlenty has featured prominently in speculation about Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s choice for a running mate.

Actor-producer Don Cheadle is scheduled to appear at President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign headquarters in downtown Raleigh, where he will greet supporters.
