KERNERSVILLE, N.C. -- A 10-year-old student at Caleb’s Creek Elementary School in Kernersville launched her book at a local library on Saturday.

Blaire Edwards, 10, launched her book 'Flossie Flamingo's Adventures' at Paddison Library in Kernersville.

The book features chapters filled with life lessons, from bullying to making friends.

Edwards, who will be in the fifth grade this fall, started her book by telling stories to her grandmother, Lynette Hampton, on her front porch.

"It started out as story telling and they decided one day to put it to print. She would dictate and grandma would read it back. Blaire would make her changes and there you go," said Michelle Edwards.

Michelle, Blaire's mom, said Blaire is already writing down ideas for a second book.

Blaire's book is available on Amazon.com.
