Would-be burglar flees after resident turns on lights

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A would-be burglar who forced open the door of an apartment in Greensboro fled after the resident turned on the lights.

Police said the resident was upstairs at 701 Gillespie St., Apt. C, when someone knocked on the door around 11:50 p.m.

The resident then heard the door being forced open and turned on the lights, which caused the man to flee the scene.

Police said nothing was stolen during the incident. No injuries were reported.

Police ask anyone with information to call Crimestoppers at 373-1000.
