Police: man struck, killed by passenger train in Thomasville

THOMASVILLE, N.C. — Police are investigating after a man was struck and killed by a passenger train on Tuesday.

At approximately 1:20 p.m., a man was struck by a Amtrak train traveling from Charlotte to Raleigh near the business 85 overpass.

The train was stopped for almost three-hours while police investigated the accident.

No injuries to passengers were reported.

The victim’s body was recovered.

A investigation is ongoing.
