EDEN, N.C. — Deputies are investigating after they said dynamite was found behind a home in Eden.

According to a news release, Rockingham County sheriff’s deputies and the Greensboro Police Department’s bomb squad responded to the home at 230 Parker Road on Monday morning after receiving information about the dynamite from a confidential source.

A K-9 unit discovered the dynamite in a recently-cleared field behind the home.

The dynamite was safely detonated around 2:30 p.m.

The Leaksville Fire Department was called to the scene before the detonation as a precaution.

No charges have been issued, though deputies are still investigating.
