Cary firefighter arrested after sexual assault at Bur-Mil Park

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A Cary firefighter has been arrested for engaging in a sexual relationship with a minor in at a Greensboro park.

On Monday, Christopher Angelo Manzo, 22, of Pittsboro, was arrested and charged in Cary in relation to an alleged sex offense involving a juvenile at Bur-Mil Park last month.

According to police, Manzo engaged in sexual activity with a person under the age of 16 during a pre-arranged meeting at the park.

Bur-Mil Park officials learned about the incident last week and reported it to authorities.

Manzo is charged with one count of statutory sex offense and two counts of indecent liberties with a minor.

He is being held in the Guilford County Jail under a $100,000 bond. His next court date is scheduled for Aug. 21.

Officials with the town of Cary reported that Manzo is currently employed by the city pending the results of an investigation.
