GREENVILLE, N.C. — People at baseball games are told to watch for foul balls coming into the seats, but what about foul balls that land in a nearby swimming pool?

Some residents in Greenville are concerned because of the foul balls from the Babe Ruth league that end up in the pool at Guy Smith Park.

Beth Sanchez, whose son is part of the Yellow Fin Swim Team at the pool, says at least four foul balls have ended up in the pool area, injuring children and parents.

Recreation director Gary Fenton says the swim team has been moved to an indoor pool at the Greenville Aquatics and Fitness Center, while batting practice has been moved to J.H. Rose High School.

The city is looking for a permanent solution.
