GREENSBORO, N.C. — City crews are working to repair a large sinkhole that appeared over the weekend at a Greensboro intersection.

Mike Mabe, with the City of Greensboro, said crews plan to have the repairs complete by Monday afternoon. However, Mabe said it may be Tuesday before they’ll be able to repave the intersection of Argonne Boulevard and Dulaire Road.

The nearly seven-foot sinkhole, which was discovered on Sunday, was caused as a result of erosion in a void that was found where the underground pipe connected to the manhole.

Mabe said the pipe is a storm-sewer pipe and the repairs should not affect utilities for any residents.
